Introduction
Ahoy captain,
My name is Octave, I'm turning 29 in 1 month and born and raised in France, Paris.
I'm currently in Indonesia (Bali) with some friends and my dream is to come back home by sailing. I meant to start an job apprenticeship to become a carpenter so I should be back by July but to be honest, it sound a little bit too tight and I'd prefer taking my time while sailing. I can also ask my school (Les compagnons du Devoir) to postpone by 1 year my starting date.
I'm giving more details about me, my personality and my skills in the next parts.
Let me know if you have any questions, I'd love to have a call with you to better get to know you as well.
Octave

How my friends describe me:
- curious: I'm passionate in everything new which can be manual learning like a new sport or intellectual like discovering history, geography, philosophy, geopolitics, I loooove podcasts and books.
- can-do attitude: I'm more a polyvalent person than a narrow expert. I learn fast and I like to understand how to do things by myself once being taught. To give you an example, I started my career as a strategy consultant, then became head of France of startup small team and now I completely changed my track: moved to Marseille (for the sea and the sun) to become a carpenter.
- listener and pedagogic: my friends tell me that I'm a very good listener. When people have interesting things to share I can ask relentless questions. But I also like to share my thoughts and emotions and to teach what I know like my language, manual skills or crazy life stories.

So few things about me and sailing:
- my father infused the passion for sailing, he used to do it a lot with his best friend
- I've been doing light sailing since I know how to walk: catamaran, windsurf and kitesurfing (before Indonesia, I was 2 weeks in the Philippines to do kitesurfing 🤩)
- I also have some experience in cruise sailing, I've gone out on the water for weekend trips with my uncle in the Mediterranean sea and I've done 1-week long performance internships the last 2 years in a top reference sailing school / association in France (Les Glénans). To make it simple I can be independent on a boat on confortable conditions.
