I am a retired Electrical Engineer, Avionics Mfgr., Business Unit Manager, and adventurer with a wide range of experiences on and off the water. I have been trained as a welder, car mechanic, chef, diesel mechanic, alpine mountain climbing, boat builder and carpenter, and I hold degrees in engineering and psychology. I have an Advanced Diver cert and am considering a Divemaster Certification.
I have built and repaired countless boats. I have received a 6-Pack Captains License from the US Coast Guard. I have thousands of miles of sailing mine and others racing and cruising vessels.
I am a diver and a former competitive swimmer. I have significant experience in mountain hiking and climbing as well as river rafting and mountain based pack horse excursions. In 2016, I hiked the WA section of the PCT - 29 nights and 507 miles. My wife and I sailed our 36 Ft. Hallberg-Rassy slope from Seattle to Alaska and down to Costa Rica and back to Seattle between 2003–2008.
I do all of my training and adventures for one reason - fun. I am focused on having a rich and fun filled life while I'm capable. You will find me to be one of the most easy going and fun persons you will have on board. I try hard to not take myself too seriously but I love to apply my skills where ever they are needed.
Since my wife died in 2015 I have been traveling and taking courses to stay busy. I currently am completing a 6 month contract on a 26 meter motor yacht in the Mediterranean. That contract ends in October. I live in Seattle if I’m not on a boat and am completely unencumbered by anything. I am ready for fun and adventure where ever that may lead.
