I'm an experienced, friendly, uncomplicated, bluewater crew member/watchkeeper/teammate/sailor seeking to expand experience on larger vessels, especially those active in conservation/research/communication/video/drone-cam/etc. activites. Multiple Pacific Island voyages (Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, Aus, New Cal etc), plus countless bluewater miles on sailing & diving expeditions off NZ coast & offshore islands (Wharekauri/Chatham, Manawatāwhi/ThreeKings, Whakaari/White, Rakiura etc). Three passages NZ-Fiji, Vanuatu-Queensland, NewCal-NZ on Outremer 51 in 2022 & 48ft sloop in 2023. Never seasick. NZ Coastguard volunteer (Skipper). Maintenance fan with extensive industrial electro-mechanical and software project experience. Bring a wide range of trouble-shooting/problem-solving/contingency experience & skills, particularly useful if unexpected occurs. I can take my turn in the galley and cook a variety of edible meals, but happier to assist better cooks with vege chopping and washing up. I'm semi-retired & despite being married with two school-aged sons can usually be flexible and adaptable to suit your timetable. Over the years/decades I've sailed many passages with parents, close friends, commercial skippers and many other skippers & crews with varying levels of experience.
