Hello! We are looking for two reliable crew to cross the Great Australian Bight from Melbourne to Perth departing Melbourne around January 23, 2023. We will be using Bruce Buckley as our weather router. The gig is for two to three weeks as I will be heading back home (to the U.S.) in early February.
About me: I am Husband and Dad of two children aged 18 & 17. I am fulfilling on a dream of sailing the world. I am a competent sailor with over 25 years of experience with two Atlantic and one Pacific crossings under my belt. I am kind, clean, conscientious and like adventure and a good laugh.

Our boat is a 2014 and in excellent condition. She is in good working order with proper boat handling and maintenance and are looking for crew who is mindful of that effort. In May 2018, we crossed the Atlantic from Mystic, Connecticut to Cascais, Portugal & we sailed from Lisbon down the Atlantic coast and into the Med (Balearic Islands & Sardinia, Italy, France, Spain), where we explored for several months and then crossed back over the Atlantic in December to the Caribbean. We then continued on the Coconut Milk Run through French Polynesia and on to New Zealand. When New Zealand opened up headed back to warm waters of Fiji. From there the family will join me in Australia. My friend Rex of 35 years, from Annapolis Md will be joining the me and family while sailing Australia. If interested please take into consideration that you will need to have your travel plans sorted appropriately for your arrival, as that needs to be shown upon arrival in Australia. All told, we are expecting that crew will be with us for about two weeks.

While we like to have cocktails ashore, we are a no alcohol boat while underway. We will provision the boat with food for the crossing and are looking for tidy, competent, cheerful sailors to accompany us! We are looking for a partner team who works well together and with others, are both competent sailors and are able to whip up a dish or two in the galley. Crew will have their own cabin and be expected to keep a shift of night watch. We are looking for crew who have have some sailing experience, preferably an ocean crossing or other multi-day passages. As it is a boat and space is limited, we do request relatively light travelers and good hygiene is requested!
