I am a USCG Licensed Captain and have been operating boats professionally my entire adult life. I have experience on a wide variety of boats, including sailing vessels of all sizes, motor yachts, and parasail vessels. These days I specialize in high performance sailing catamarans, doing owner training and brokerage. I am land based now but some of my recent owner training deliveries have been aboard a Balance 526, Outremer 5X, and a Chris White Atlantic 55. My last full-time position was as captain aboard a Gunboat 57 doing world cruising.

I grew up in North Carolina and began sailing Hobie Cats at a very young age. I have always loved to be outdoors and will never turn down the opportunity for adventure. I love working on and rebuilding engines as a hobby, and on the job when necessary. I am a hard working and highly motivated individual that is honest and pays attention to detail. I thrive under pressure which is a necessity for operating high performance sailboats near their limits. I have experience running a wide variety of vessels up to 32 meters. I get along well with others and make friends easily. I am very experienced with all forms of boat, systems, and engine maintenance. I love to sail.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in Communication Studies. I was the President of the Sailing Club at my university and helped many young people get involved with sailing. I have worked as a US Sailing certified instructor at BHI Sailing Club in North Carolina and at OCSC Sailing School on the San Francisco Bay. When I was younger I specialized in sailing J Boats, honing my skills by collaborating with the instructors at J World Annapolis. I've skippered many yacht deliveries with the most significant being a trans-Atlantic on a Privilege 585 and a trans-Pacific on a Gunboat 57. I also operate and perform yacht deliveries of high performance Balance Catamarans on a regular basis.

I am most happy offshore and love the adventure of operating a sailing vessel. I think the life experience, stress management skills, and multitasking abilities employed while master of a vessel are invaluable. My goal now is to pass on those skills that I have learned throughout my career to sailors with a desire to advance their abilities and gain confidence operating their boat.
