Dear Shipmates

Introduction

After two years of working on her, the boat is finally ready to begin racing! She will be participating in club-level beer-can races this spring. She is, finally, mechanically sound and over the summer will be working on the creature comforts for her.

Looking for race crew who will, occasionally, also have opportunities for simple weekend and day-sail trips.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

usually cleanshare experienceseek adventureface challengesmulticultural

Racing, racing, and more racing, interspersed with some racing and maybe a pleasure cruise or two to the channel or San Juan islands for club getaways

Everyone aboard are expected to be reasonable and intelligent people, else I wouldn't have them aboard. As such, your thoughts are important and I will listen to them and take them into account, discuss decisions. However, at some point a decision needs to be made. If a consensus can be had, great. If not, I make the decision.

It is more important, to me, that a crew person be someone I can spend large amounts of time in a somewhat cramped environment and who will pitch in and "pull their own weight" than that they have tons of sailing experience. A willingness to dig in, a willingness to get along are more highly prized than 100,000 sea miles.

I am an ASA sailing instructor, with a USCG OUPV and 100-ton master's in process (would already have them, but Damn You Covid!) as well as Yachtmaster Ocean also in process (taking the exam after I take the USCG tests) and over 40 years of experience.

The skipper is happily married and is vehemently NOT looking for romance.
