We run various conservation adventures in Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador. Our 45m ship is entirely crewed by volunteers, and our operations are in partnership with Park Rangers. We run various small boats, drones, a barge, and other assets to assist in coastal and offshore Marine Protected Areas, including Cocos Island and Coiba Island. We visit various remote places, and missions include delivery of supplies and personnel, demolition, construction, maintenance, monitoring of fishing vessels, coastal cleanups, servicing of moorings, and lots more.
We need all types of crew - Some come highly skilled, while others have little in the way of existing experience, but a good attitude to learn and be part of a great team. The ship is a great learning environment for those looking to expand their skill set while having some great adventures. Also those looking to get sea miles and experience prior to entering the commercial marine sector.
All crew are volunteers and contribute to costs. The operations are at times hard work. But you get to work on an awesome ship, visit places not open to tourists, and make the world a fractionally better place.
Volunteers contribute towards living costs by paying one of the following:
- US$700 for 1 week
- US$1,200 for 2 weeks
- US$1600 for 4 weeks
- US$2,000 for 6 weeks
- US$2,500 for 8 weeks
-US$2,800 for 10 weeks
- US$3,000 for 12 weeks
When not on campaign we mostly refit the ship and do maintenance. On Sundays the crew chill out or go on adventures. This includes diving, fishing, hiking, kayaking, surfing, hanging at beaches etc.
People who care about wildlife and conservation tend to enjoy the experience more. We’ve had some amazing and talented people join our crew, and many have gotten once in a lifetime experience.
