UPCOMING TRIP: in July 2025 we are going to cross the Atlantic again. The plan is sail from Amsterdam to New York (so not the trivial Caribbean). Currently we have a Dutch crew of 3 and probably 2 or 3 spots available for crew members. For enthusiastic people we have spots available. Sailing experience is not a hard requirement, being social, responsible and seeking fun is. We welcome you if an Atlantic crossing is your dream and who want to do this as part of a team! If you 'only' interested for logging miles please do not contact me.
Anyone from Ukraine is extra welcome. Sorry, but I will not accept anyone from Russia on board.
Update of Feb 2025: we are working to finalize some maintenance tasks and have still a few new ones like installing a hydro generator. We also might replace the rigging completely before the next trip.
Update of July 2022: most of the (power) electronics is replaced and the batteries are upgraded to Lithium. Currently we are upgrading to new Raymarine navigation equipment, getting a new anchor chain, etc..
[I have deleted the updates from 2019 till May 2022, since this would become a bit of a boring story.]
Update of August 18, 2019: we have just returned to The Netherlands from Sint Maarten. The crew consisted of FindACrew members only and again was the best I've could wish for! We had a lot of fun and good sailing!
Some details of me and my crew (so far): I have about 35 years of sailing experience and have given quite some years of sailing training both on lakes as offshore. In my daily life I am working as a manager in a big tech company (ASML).
My first-mate is 30 years old and we have sailed quite a lot together. He has joined our trans-Atlantic crossing in 2018. He is an easy going guy who knows a lot about sailing and plays the guitar every now and then.
If you want to know more just ask.
