Dear Shipmates

Introduction

Hey everyone! My name is Nelson, and I’m here because I’m completely passionate about the sea and life on board.

Since I was a kid, I’ve been sailing small boats, which gave me a solid foundation in maneuvers, how a boat reacts to the wind, and that essential understanding of how things work on board. Over time, this passion only grew, pushing me to seek more intense experiences, including boat maintenance, a few crossings, and participation in regattas.

I’ve already logged quite a few sea miles, both coastal and offshore, and I know what it’s like to hold a helm for hours, trim sails in strong winds, and deal with sudden weather changes. Plus, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty—I've done hull, sail, and engine maintenance because, at sea, knowing how to fix things is always an advantage.

I’m a fast learner and easygoing when it comes to teamwork. I know that every tack teaches something new, and I’m always open to learning from those with more experience. I also enjoy challenges and handle pressure well because, at sea, you either adapt or become a problem.

My goal is to gain as much experience as possible until the day I can set off on a big solo voyage. Until then, I want to bring my skills, energy, and enthusiasm to any crew that needs a dedicated and all-in sailor.

Fair winds, and I hope to see you on board!

I’m an easygoing, responsible, and adaptable person. I get along well with different kinds of people and quickly adjust to new environments. I’m a bit on the quiet side—more of a listener than a talker—but I’m always paying attention and learning from every experience on board.

My goal is to explore the world from the deck of a sailboat, gaining as much experience as possible until the day I can captain my own ship.

My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat

For me, crewing on a boat is more than just an adventure—it’s a way of life.

The sea has always been a part of my journey. From my first experiences sailing small boats to offshore passages, regattas, and hands-on boat maintenance, I’ve built a strong connection with life on the water. I thrive in dynamic environments where teamwork, adaptability, and resilience are essential. There’s something about the rhythm of the ocean, the constant learning, and the problem-solving that comes with sailing that keeps me motivated.

My goal is to gain as much experience as possible, refining my skills in navigation, boat handling, and seamanship. Every mile sailed, every challenge faced, and every lesson learned brings me closer to my ultimate dream: captaining my own boat and exploring the world under sail.

I’m eager to contribute my enthusiasm, skills, and willingness to learn to any crew that shares the same passion for the open sea. Whether it’s a long crossing, coastal cruising, or a race, I’m ready to be part of the team, put in the hard work, and embrace the adventure.
