Hi there !
We are Lucas and Marie Charlotte (27 and 26 years old), and we are currently looking for a boat to join to go from Caribbean (Martinique) to Grenada or Trinidad & Tobago or even south America.
In September 2024, we decided to trade our permanent jobs at Decathlon for a year-long journey (at least) and try to travel the world without flying. Beyond the challenge, we’re mainly seeking adventure, the chance to learn, and to meet new people! Above all, we really want to learn from this experience, not just finding a boat to navigate during a few weeks and then flying back to France. Hopefully, one day we will be able to buy a boat of our own and live on it.
We already have some sailing experience with small boats, and we recently completed a week-long sea course with the sailing association ‘Les Glénans’ on a 9.8-meter sailboat. We’ve learned the basics of navigation with maps, steering, wind management, and sail handling. We can be helpful for night watches, navigation, and cooking/cleaning duties. On top of that we recently did a transatlantic crossing from East (Canaries) to West (Martinique) on a 14m Lagoon 450S catamaran in December 2024 which included (night watches, cooking, help with sails...).
On the personal side, we’re both passionate about sports (rugby on one side and yoga on the other) and quite artistic (especially Marie Charlotte who is Photographer and Graphic Designer). With roots in Brittany and Picardy, we hope these few lines already give you plenty of topics to discuss with us!
We’re currently in Martinique. We’re flexible on dates and open to some trial sailing beforehand to get to know each other.
Cheers,
Marie Charlotte & Lucas
