Hi ☀️,
I hail from Chamonix in the French Alps and am entirely new to the ocean scene. Upon moving to Auckland, New Zealand, I discovered a profound passion for water activities. I've eagerly immersed myself in kayaking, surfing, kite-surfing, and am currently gearing up to obtain my PADI certification. While my sailing experience is modest (limited to a week-long stint for a student competition in Brittany, France), I'm an enthusiastic novice eager to expand my skills and knowledge in sailing.
Beyond the water, I have a fervent love for cooking. Whether concocting elaborate dishes or improvising recipes, I promise delectable results (even if the appearance might not always match!). Recently, I whipped up some irresistible chocolate cinnamon rolls—sans cinnamon, yet still a crowd-pleaser. My culinary skills extend to creating tasty meals from minimal ingredients, showcasing my flexibility and creativity in the kitchen.
I pride myself on being tidy and enjoy hands-on tasks of any kind. Fluent in three languages—French, Spanish, and English—I value effective communication and cultural exchange.
Recently, I invested in a 360 camera (Insta 360) to capture memorable moments and create engaging videos (YouTube link).
I'm eager to embark on weekend sailing adventures in the Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and Bay of Islands regions. My goal is to absorb everything there is to learn about sailing—a vast undertaking, but every sailor starts somewhere. I relish hearing stories from you and sharing my own adventures, like hitchhiking through Patagonia for two weeks when I was 20.
My partner shares my enthusiasm for sailing and, as an engineer, possesses a knack for problem-solving and a "MacGyver" spirit. Together, we're ready to dive headfirst into the sailing community, learn, and contribute wherever we can.
Looking forward to setting sail and forging new connections!
