Now I work online with luxury real estate rental as a business development manager. Spent a few months in Phuket, Thailand to take over some beautiful properties. I can work from anywhere so that's nice, but I'd be ready to ditch the job for the right opportunity.
That's about it up until now. In February 2024 I am going to travel through Pakistan and India and then fly to Indonesia where I will be until mid May. I got working holiday visa for Australia, so I might go there for a while, but it really depends on what other opportunities are available. From then on, I have no future plans.
I crave adventures, unusual places and challenges. So exactly what sailing brings. After learning to sail from someone, I’d like to buy a sailboat cruiser to have a go on my own.
Hobbies: Squash, rock-climbing, rebuilding motorcyles, kayaking, hiking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, carpentry, scuba diving and freediving, bass guitar, dogs, discovering new places, learning new things,... There is a lot.
Things I love: Stimulating conversations, humor (even darker humor, I can have a laugh in almost any situation), random fun facts (Sialkot, Pakistan is where almost 70% of all footballs are made), creativite ideas, solving problems.
Things I hate: None
Things I don't like: Overly arogant (don't mistake for confident) people or people with zero humor AND with nothing to say (being interesting or knowledgable is a full substitute for being funny), laziness, bring stuck in comfort zone, messy living quarters.
(I believe) I am: Creative, flexible, easy-going, up for any new fun thing, passionate, caring and always open to changing my opinion (if arguments are persuasive) or admitting when I'm wrong.
How can I help: Entertaining - Im kinda funny. I played a little guitar, but never got very good, although usually I didn't have the time - maybe now there would be some to get good? My ex was an influencer (220K followers) and I was usually the photographer. I got some experience flying drones (mine got stolen last year tho) and now got a gopro 10 for videos. Got laptop. Beginner in Photoshop and Premiere - but willing to master it (thanks youtube). I can SCUBA well and freedive a little and I speared only 3 fish in my life - but would be happy to continue. I can gut a fish. I can cook quite well. I can think outside the box to get out of precarious situations (for example: once the diesel in my car froze at night on Pamir highway in the middle of nowhere and the car wouldnt start, so I syphoned it into a jerry can and hiked to a hot spring to heat it up and then put it back into the car - it started). I can climb a mast and I could (probably) set sail alone on a smaller boat - spent a few weeks sailing with a group in Croatia and Italy (willing to take extra classes though). I got car, motorcycle and tractor license (that should come in handy). I used to fish in rivers with my grandpa, so got some experience fishing. I got no problem (and would like it too, I regret not vlogging on my trips) being in a video or behind the camera. I got paragliding license, but never really found time to go regularly. I can fix some minor damages, can work with most tools - dad is a carpenter and he though me. Also got some experience with Google ads, Facebook Ads and SMM. I can also make website or a shopify store if you'd like to sell some tshirts or anything during the journey. I speak English, Czech and Slovak fluently. I can get around with Persian (Farsi) and Spanish.
Few more things about me:
Also, no problem waking up within 3 seconds.
Seasickness might come for a day or two, but I'm no lightweight and can function during.
I am not a sociopath, got friends who are very dear to me and an amazing family.
I travel very light, but could ask my family to send me my diving gear, speargun and a guitar if needed.
I thrive in discomfort.
I eat anything.
I actually quite enjoy cleaning.
I can follow orders (Yes Chef).
Dying (or close to it) is fine, it is not living that terrifies me.
I am both night and day person. But long days are usually better than long nights.
Let me finish by saying that I love life and people and when I think about a sailing trip full of adventures the earth stops spinning for a moment.
Sam
