Hello Shipmates,

we are Marion (49)and Christoph (53) from Germany traveling long term in our car since May 2022.

Traveling in Guatemala we had the great oportunity to help another couple to restore and build up a big steel Ketch at the boatyard for 10 weeks. That included

-grinding, preparing for welding and clean up corrosive parts
-bringing up several layers of painting inside and outside
-tidying up and cleaning the machine room,
-removing, maintaining and installing the bow thruster
-maintenance and cleaning of the main rudder support
-removing, re-installing and painting the sea chest and other heavy motor parts
-installing solar panels, change and connect the batteries and other general electric maintenance
-cooking and baking

We finally crawled into every little angle of the ship and know how to deal with dirty and oily stuff.

We kind of fell in love with being so close to a sailing ship and want to give it a real try on the water!
We both do not have any idea of sailing a ship but we are seriously interested to explore and learn this. We both are normally not seasick and good swimmers.

Since April 5 2024 we are temporary residents of Mexico for the next four years. Our car can also be stored without any problem even for longer time. Now we can take live as it comes!

Actually we are in El Pescadero, Baja Sur, until mid October caring for animals and plants on a rancho.

I love cooking, baking and kitchen things and Christoph likes all kinds of electrics and mechanics. He is a good bug-finder when anything does not have any correct function.

We both like to learn more about sailing and the things around it.

Christophs last job was in maintenance of wind and solar power systems for 7 years. He also restored and build up csrs and motorbikes as well as other machines we used on our farm we lived.

We both like to do our things preferably from the scratch and know what it means to work responsibly.

With traveling in our own 4x4 truckcamper for almost two years now we have also learned how to live on small space. Our cabin is about four squaremeters...
We are financially independent and live on little money. Of course we are open to share costs like nutricion and fees.

We like our life in our car, but we also want to find out, if living on a boat would be a serious alternative. We are flexible in our time for now as long as our Mexican visa will last. We are available for a weekend up to a couple of months, if your way will lead to the Caribbean, Central America, South Pacific or coastal Mexican cruising.
