Hi,
My name is Liam. Having spent many weeks on sailboats with my family growing up; exploring the med, and even a brief jaunt in the Gulf of Mexico, I have been a big sailing and boat nerd since a very young age.
In 2020 I completed my RYA Day Skipper Theory course and in September 2022 I completed the week long RYA Day Skipper practical course, equivalent to the ICC, in Solent Water. Additionally, I hold a Maritime Radio Operator Certificate of Competence, issued by the RYA in 2018. Ultimately I would love to achieve my Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate with the RYA.
I would love to one day take on a passage across the Bay of Biscay, a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, and maybe even a circumnavigation of the Globe!
I love sailing in all conditions, from cruising in the sunshine to a good heel in high winds, heavy rain, and rough seas (although I’m sure I’m yet to learn the true meaning of rough seas!). I am eager to gain experience beyond the Mediterranean and find out what it’s like to watch land disappear from site for a few days.
I love to solve problems and try to approach everything I do with positivity and a can do attitude. I believe I shine under pressure and try to tackle life’s challenges with a smile and a joke. I am an easy going person and I like to think I can get on with any body.
Originally from St Albans, south England, I have been living in Amsterdam since 2020. Here I live with my partner and work as a consultant Software Engineer, which has been my career since I started in London in 2014.
A guitar player since a young age, my great passion next to sailing is music. Visiting record shops, going to concerts, or making my own music; I believe music and art are one of life’s great joys and I try to bring a creative mind set to everything I do.
A capable crew member and a novice coastal Skipper, I am eager to learn from more experienced sailors and embark on some exciting new adventures.
See you on the water!
