I was introduced to sailing by my husband Manny. Although I grew up near the ocean (spent all summers on the water near near Boston), my sailing experience was minimal. Our family owned powerboats, and I have always felt comfortable on the water, whether fishing, just exploring Boston Harbor, or walking around the many islands. When I met Manny (in the depths of covid), I met a like-minded soul! He is a sailing instructor, and has shown me the ropes so to speak. I love being on the water with him. We have done lots of day sailing in the Chicago area, chartered a boat for a week on Lake Superior, sailed for 10 days in Greece, and then a separate trip there for a few more days. We just returned from a glorious 9 day trip on a catamaran in Fiji. What an experience! We are both looking forward to finding more trips. While he is retired, I am still working, so the ideal trip for me is a week to a week and a half depending on location. He can often stay longer, as long as I have a chance to hop off the boat and fly home to get back to work! Either way, these past few years have been a dream come true, and we both look forward to more adventures ahead.
