Our interests are varied - from STEM to language; the arts in all forms and everything in between. We love to laugh and tell stories while cooking fantastic meals and sharing a bottle of wine, enjoy learning new skills, languages or anything we are unfamiliar with. We are both comfortable out of our element; a quality that comes from our many years of independent travel overseas. Our work experience is varied; we have backgrounds ranging from construction to oilfield positions, restaurant service and chef positions, sales, web design, as well as leadership positions in various organizations and entrepreneurial ventures to name a few. We speak five languages between us and love meeting and making new friends.

Our dream of one day owning a sailing yacht and cruising full time is one we are proactively working toward constantly. We both have some sailing experience; as a teenager I dingy sailed and raced with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps achieving a CYA White Sail level III. I have also spent 5 days aboard a 50 ft catamaran coastal cruising around Tioman Island in the Malaysian south China Sea, and both of us are completing our IYT Flotilla Skipper training at the moment. Sarah has coastal cruising experience in Mexico off of Jalisco in the Pacific as well. We have some but limited heavy weather experience; having both been out in force 7-8 blows once.

We hope to garner experience and build miles before diving in to a yacht purchase and committing to the cruising life. We are both keenly aware that the cruising life isn't some youtube fantasy but rather takes real work and commitment, and a hell of a lot of sacrifice, blood, sweat, and tears.

Our interest in sailing and cruising stems directly from our shared love of travel. Coupled with this is a desire to live minimally and lessen our impact on the natural world, taking only experience and leaving only memories. We both believe that the cruising life holds the key to combine both of these ambitions.
