Hello,

I am hoping to join an easy-going crew for recreational sail/cruising. I am very hands-on, comfortable with all duties necessary to keep a boat afloat, and believe in everyone pitching in equally (be it for watches, helming, or cooking). I pride myself to be an amazing cook, able to employ the art of of whipping up a meal from whatever ingredients on hand. I would most enjoy planning that portion of the victuals though, don't get me wrong.

With only a few hundred miles under my belt, I prefer sail plans that, at the minimum, involve actively sailing every few days if not every day (or over long periods). I have a strong desire to better my understanding and knowledge of sailing and become a reliable member of any crew.

I am tidy and respectful of everyone's space. Incidentally, being a petite person means I don't need that much space in the first place. Unfortunately, I am an elbower

Sept2024: looking to join some short cruises around the UK-- week plus trips are doable before end of September (ie NOW, heh); weekends trips til December because I'm going to culinary school! 🎉

I am a lover of water sports: an avid scuba diver, intermediate with board sports, a beginner with kite; I love cooking flavourful and pleasurable food; I would love to join a boat with an equally active crew, but would be happy to join any boat that takes me out to the sea.

I am open to joining a vessel at a mutually convenient port, and not necessarily from my current location. When my partner (who is not only a marine chief engineer, but also certified to RYA Yachtmaster Coastal) is available (ie not currently on a yacht), our preference is to sail together. To make it easier for boat owners, we both send a wave to a boat if we wish to join together.

One of my personal side goals is to learn/experience fishing (both in shore and deep sea), and would gladly take on an opportunity to learn. I am sports-minded as well, so would be happy to join in on water activities (I am a PADI certified advanced scuba diver as well as a skin diver). I am looking for an opportunity to join a long passage!
