G'day my name is Dave!

I have had the pleasure of growing up on the NSW central coast on the east coast of Australia for most of my life. I've also traveled and lived in New Zealand for a year. In 2023 I travelled from Sydney to Perth including Tasmania via motorcycle, 4WD and caravan. Next I flew to Indonesia, and travelled to Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and back again to NZ. A trip of a lifetime.

I have grown up around the water, I was a surf life saver, spent time in sea caves, scruba dived, cliff jumped and Canyoning / rock climbing is a favourite hobby of mine.

I have operated the family 15 foot fibreglass outboard boat for many yearsz including launching the boat, towing people behind it and maintenance.

I am a car mechanic by trade and have a general knowledge of engines. Not a guru by any means being still young but I have had a exposure to many machines. I spent some months in a marine workshop on petrol onboards and outboards.

I love cooking. I will eat just about anything, enjoy a drink but not copious amounts of alcohol (some may assume all Aussies love to drink a lot) and providing food for people. Craft beer fan, enjoy most wines and spiced rum would be my go to spirit.

I aspire to be a adventure driven person who respects anything from small insects to whales and everything in between. I am environmentally conscious always having sustainability on my mind. Easy to get along with, happy to talk, listen, share stories or be more reserved depending on my companies preferences. Sharing travel stories and experiences is one of my favourite past times.

I am a fast learner and I am passionate about doing a good quality job and whatever I lay my hand to. With an attention to detail in many areas. I love fixing things and leaving them better then how I found them. I don't have any issue with maintenance or renovations if the owner of the vessel is in desire to complete works on the vessel.

I love a challenge especially learning a new skill that I can only get better at as time goes on. I take criticism very well and handle being yelled at in stressful situations. Being an apprentice and undertaking the journey to becoming a tradesmen taught me much in my young adult life. I still have much to learn but there is not one thing I wouldn't want to learn about.
