Updated October 4
Just finished crewing a boat from Mystic CT to Annapolis MD. Going to be hanging out for the boat show and looking for opportunities to sail anywhere along the east coast or Caribbean.
Retired in April 2021 with a desire to see what's "out there” and gain sailing experience. US Sailing certified since 2020 and owned a 32' sloop. Unfortunately it was not built for anything but light coastal sailing and I'm looking for adventures beyond the horizon.
I’ve been doing local racing and some multi-day regattas. In May of 2022 I crewed a 7-day, ~700nm delivery passage from Portland, Oregon to Richmond, California on a 1983 Hunter Legend 40.5. I wouldn’t call myself a YouTube star by any means, but the owner I crewed for has a very small channel that includes several episodes of this voyage which I am in (my 15 minutes of almost-fame, I suppose!).
Will be participating as a circumnavigator in the '25-26 Clipper Round the World race.
I'm flexible, adaptable and ready to join an easy-going boat that's headed just about anywhere. I'm safety-minded but also looking to have fun with 'outside the box' experiences. I have experience route and weather planning, cooking, standing watch and onboard maintenance. My old boat, a 1980 Pearson 32, was a Craigslist project boat and I did many system upgrades and repairs.
Looking to be a hands-on contributing crew member and learn all that I can.
Open to all arrangements (paid / unpaid / contribute). I put $5 & $20 in the online form just to fill it out. I am open to sharing reasonable agreed expenses.
Valid passport so international travel is no problem.
