Ahoy! I'm looking to gain some experience as a sailor as I'm finally chasing the dream of becoming a skipper! I've been joining friends on sailing boats on lakes my whole life but without any proper coaching so I was just a helping hand on the boat during short cruise and some regattas.
I'm first looking to spend some days helping out on a boat before taking my first "formal training".
In the last year I crossed the Bay of Biscay as a crew member rallying Lisbon from Falmouth. I then spent 10 days in the BVI taking as much responsibilities as possible in all aspects of the boat (navigation, sail trimming, helm, docking, etc). I'm currently studying RYA Coastal/Offshore Yachmaster theory in preparation of my first formal sailing course this year. I'm attending a RYA Day Skipper practical course in May and I'm hoping top continue on the RYA syllabus after building some miles over the summer.
