I'm Erika, I'm 59 years old, I live in Rio de Janeiro.
I've always been in love with the sea, landscapes, travels, places, other cultures.
Long years of work with set design, inside the dark recording studios, always took me towards the sea in leisure periods. Several diving courses , beaches, a bit of surfing, stand-up and, risking kitesurfing.
More recently, a week on a charter in the Caribbean ended up taking me to a monohull and lasting for 2 months. Captain and me, sailing (2500NM) from Lá Paz (Baja California) to Panama City. An incredible route, going through strong winds, storms, (no nausea). Swimming with sea lions and manta rays, diving in shipwrecks, accompanied by dolphins, whales and wonderful landscapes.
I returned to Brazil and took a basic certification (Mestre Arrais - 20NM ) with the intention of returning to the sea and learning a little about sailing.
2022 from Les Sables D'Olone to Split (2500 NM)
2022/2023. Sailing for 6 months between Türkye, Italy and Greece.( 2800NM)
2023 US /Antigua (1400 NM)
I still don't have control over the sails, but I can support maneuvers, take turns in turns and instruments, keep the boat organized and in good condition, organize and receive people.
Learning languages also interests me. I speak Brazilian Portuguese (native). I seek fluency in English and when possible, learn Spanish and Italian (I understand a lot but I don't speak)
I believe that unpaid positions are the path to learning.
Leaving Brazil, where I am at the moment, to embark in other countries, at first, is not a problem, observing the current sanitary requirements. In principle, I do ot share expenses considering that travel from Brazil already has a very high cost.
Interest in environmental protection projects, even if they have long periods, and also by groups related to water sports. Naturally, with such a shift, I consider it important to have a good conversation beforehand so that we can adjust to expectations.
