My ideal plan: a balance of weeks on the water + my Hawaiian tree house.
Having lived in this tropical climate since 2007, my blood temp is happily 96.4 degrees(F) so heat is ok. However, I'm Norwegian so skiing and colder climate of growing up in Seattle has been very fun, too... where we would keep the fireplace going from late October through March and knit beautiful wool*sweaters to wear kayaking and sailing.

Tofino, Victoria, Vancouver BC,
California
the San Juan Islands & Seattle's Puget Sound.
,
>Windsurfing:
• Puget Sound/Seattle/California/Hawai--taught25 years (loved this !!!)
• Parasailing: Mazatlan
*But tropical climate is more for sweaters made of bamboo/banana yarns and chiton fiber (marine shelled creatures retain sea minerals in the processed yarn which has therapeutic benefits).
Wool:
• from my llamas, alpacas and sheep...sheared and spun on a New Zealand spinning wheel to create handspun yarn~
Sailing:
• Roberts 43 ketch (4 yrs liveaboard/South Puget Sound/Seattle)
• Thunderbird26 at Olympia
• Coronado28 at Seattle
• Hilo Sailing Club at Hawaii Island
So, the treehouse now has a zipline from one up-hut to another and winches to draw up the canvas walls, marine cleats...because I just miss them and a windsurf sail to draw in the tradewinds from nearby ocean cliffs.
Some of my dear friends like to call me a "tree hugger" but truly the trees are hugging ME!
Sailing ...the longing to be out there again...ripples through my sleep.
