I have owned various boats over the last 20 years including an Allied Misters 39’ ketch, a Ranger 33 sloop, and currently a Corsair F31 trimaran. I love sailing and the ocean. I recently retired and now have more discretionary time. I am looking for opportunities to sail in new waters on larger multihulls or tall ships. I would be a great asset on any boat but is very important to me that the boat is well-founded boats and the captain is safety-oriented. I am fully able to stand night watches and do my share. I am fun, upbeat, and a good conversationalist. I make a positive and enjoyable addition to the boat crew. I am also hard-working. With many years of boat ownership and self-performed maintenance, I fully appreciate the rigors of boat ownership. I am very competent in a great breadth of shipboard skills from maintenance to troubleshooting to navigation and weather.

This past winter I completed a 10,000 NM delivery of an Excess 11 catamaran from Portugal to Tahiti.

I have many years of experience and I have sailed my own boats in the western Caribbean, Sea of Cortez, and coastal Alaska. I am very safety-oriented and responsible. I very carefully and conservatively choose weather windows when sailing my own boats. I am mechanically inclined and have performed my own boat maintenance over the years.

With my recent retirement, I now have more time available. My goal is to gain experience and miles on a variety of boats. I currently own a Corsair 31' performance trimaran. I'm enjoying her a lot but I do plan to upgrade eventually. My primary motivation for crewing is: to gain experience on boats I may wish to own (mainly performance catamarans), to gain offshore miles, and to enjoy the comradery good conversation, and group interactions with other sailors at sea.
