Since my wife joined me in retirement less than a year ago, we have been trying to maximize our sailing experiences in great locations with other sailors more experienced than us. So far, we have sailed in Panama (San Blas), Croatia, the BVI, and (in May of 2023) a Transpacific passage from Mexico to the Marquesas with a captain we met on this website. All this is in addition to our own chartering which we have done in the Caribbean, Puget Sound, and Florida.
I am 73 years old, and in great shape. My wife is 64, and very athletic. I have completed ASA 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, and 114. With my wife's retirement a year ago, we have relocated to Florida, but continue our sailing, both charter and as crew. Our goal is to be away from home as much as we are here. We are well traveled, having seen much of the world at this point. We have no pets or commitments that prevent us from traveling anywhere for long or short periods of time. Although the experience is beginning to pile up, I have a lot of training to add to the advancing experience, and my wife has some experience and a great learning attitude. Neither of us drink or smoke, but we don’t mind moderate drinking by others around us. We both have willing attitudes, and we are seeking no payment, and are very willing to pay our share.
We are open to both short and long trips in interesting environments.
