Dear Shipmates
Introduction
Hi, my name is Niko and I am currently taking a gap year between from Colorado College. I'm the youngest of four children raised by a single mother, so i've always had a great deal of independence and had to pull my own weight. I have worked various jobs such as landscaper, referee, server, and surf instructor, but in my free time I like writing stories, surfing and playing music...when I'm not eating.

My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat
have a holidayshare experiencevisit remote placesseek adventureface challengesgain experiencelearn to sailsustainable travel
While recently hitch-hiking through Costa Rica, a fellow traveler and experienced sailor told me joining a boat crew is simply a wonderful way to see the world and cultivate relationships. Since I've always enjoyed pushing my boundaries and everything to do with the ocean, I thought this might be a unique and great opportunity to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the sea, learn the basics of sailing, and get a look at a more sustainable and simple lifestyle. Also, what an adventure!
