Introduction

Hello, I am a good student and want to learn.
My experience in sailing is limited to dinghy sailing as a young lad and racing in a two man crew.
Also, I worked a Compressor and Air gun mechanic on commercial Seismic vessels, so lots of open ocean experience.
I was a Professional Scuba Diving Instructor working on Live-board boats for more than 10 years.
I successfully directed a Man Overboard Recovery in Hong Kong harbor at night on a commercial vessel with 30 (drunken) passengers on board.
I'm hoping to sail the South Pacific as a crew member. I enjoy repairing, fixing and improving things, I can cook quite well and know how to stay awake when needed.
I hold a current CPR and First Aid Cert and was a First Aid Instructor for 10 years and have plenty of experience dealing with injury.

I have a goal to buy my own boat so I want to learn from those who have already.
I have lived my life without a 'career'. I played Rugby quite seriously until I couldn't, I was a scuba Instructor for 10 years and I traveled all I could working many varied jobs along the way (stage crew for U2!) Many stories in my life.
I know what it is like to see no land for 30 days (North Atlantic and Arctic Marine Seismic work) and how to get along.
My grand total of sailing experience is learning dinghy sailing in the Thames estuary then sailing the canals in Freisland, Holland. Also a few day sails on friends Catamaran and Mono hull.
The photos of the dive boats I have posted here only involved hoisting the sails while motoring, for fun and a bit of fuel saving but I did get to climb masts.
I hope that soon I will be advertising for crew members on my own boat.
