I retired a few years ago after many years as an I.T. Manager for the Ontario Government. I have been sailing and boating all my life mostly on small boats and inland lakes. Last fall I crewed on a 30 foot sailboat from Colon Panama to French Polynesia. Then COVID hit and I spent a few weeks quarantined on the boat and eventually got an emergency flight home. I have taken sailing courses in Thailand and have earned my International Yacht Training "International Bareboat Skipper" and "Marine Communication Master VHF" certifications. I also have my Canadian Pleasure Craft Operators license. I feel I still need some more practical experience with an experienced captain before I'm ready to head off on my own. Especially regarding coastal sailing. I am passionate about nature, conservation, protection and appreciation of our natural world.
I am willing to do anything necessary on board and able to share expenses. I'm a reasonable but not a great cook. Basically I'm looking for sailing experience, adventure and a chance to meet interesting people. I'm laid back, love to get off the beaten path and explore out of the way places. I have no specific agenda.

I am in reasonable shape and very comfortable in boats and on the water. I continue to be a competitive Dragon Boat and Outrigger paddler. It's been a while since I used it but I also have my PADI open water diving certification.
