USCG Master 100 tons Sail and Power expires June, 2026. Total underway miles 200,000+ NM including Ocean > 65,000 NM and > 5000 solo. Mileage is roughly divided 70% sail/ 30% power.

Vessel Repair/Maintenance Above average repair skills for most shipboard systems based on a lifetime of owning and operating boats and 8 years as a live aboard in the West Indies . Experience includes complete rebuild of three salvaged vessels. Upon boarding for the first time, expect a mini survey of the vessel, its systems, equipment, rigging, spares, tools, and safety gear. Completed Yanmar diesel course.
Personal No smoke, alcohol, drugs, allergies, seasickness.. I will not sail on a boat, which allows smoking; Alcohol by others is no concern –but not to excess underway. No dietary restrictions but require healthy food and good coffee. No meds, health problems or limitations; Reasonable cooking skills. No “hot bunking”. Advanced Open Water PADI diver ( 300 dives) . Red Cross First Aid and CPR Card. Hiker; Snow Skier, Mountain Biker; USA passport. Covid 19 Vaccine completed March,2021.
Passage Making Goals 1) return safely with a happy, healthy, more cohesive and better-trained crew; 2) Do not break the boat; 3) No drama and no yelling.
Depending on the trip, I usually come aboard with a Fluke meter ; a few tools; a Garmin In Reach locator/transmitter; 406 PLB EPIRB; standalone GPS/computer with TimeZero Nav system. I can also provide an Iridium Phone on request.
Offshore sailing with people who do not know each other can be great or a disaster. Everyone must be completely candid about abilities, expectations and the condition of the vessel. This resume is accurate and I expect equal candor and accuracy regarding you, your vessel and your expectations.
