I am a very experienced sailor with over 100,000 miles of coastal and ocean sailing. I have a broad range of sailing experience from dinghy's to large yachts (largest around 60'), from coastal and ocean cruising, to local club racing, to Royal Ocean Racing Club offshore racing including races such as the Fastnet etc. My longest trip was taking an ex British Steel Challenge yacht from the Falkland Islands to Antigua. I have also experienced a broad range of weather conditions, all the way up to the top end of a F11 in the Bay of Biscay and coming out of the Falklands in a F8 in 3C! I have spent the last 10 years as an operations manager in the UK RNLI (Lifeboats); so safety is top of my agenda!

I am absolutely passionate about sailing, I believe I am a very experienced and safe sailor, who enjoys all aspects of sailing; I am as happy on the wheel/tiller in any conditions as I am helping with the daily chores of running a yacht, including cleaning, cooking and maintenance. I have an electrical and mechanical engineering background, so am useful around electrics and electronics and have also restored a number of cars/engines in the past, so am handy around the mechanical side as well. I am respectful of others experience but also love teaching others if they would like me to do so. I am a very relaxed individual but if push comes to shove I can meet any challenge. I am not a party animal, so please do not offer me a position if your yacht specialises in heavy drinking and partying!

I own my own small yacht, a 24' coastal cruiser, which I love. However I do miss the ocean and sailing in different countries and exploring new places, which why I have registered on this site.
