Adventure ALWAYS... that shall be my moto. I grew up on a little 5 acre farm in New Zealand. My father was from the U.S. Although we lived only 7 miles from the sea I could never get to it enough. I am most certainly a water person. I moved to the U.S. in 1999 and have been living here continuously since then. I was a Untied states Naval Aviator for 9 years before leaving and flying commercial helicopters in the Offshore Oil industry and then Emergency Helicopter services. I am currently taking a break from working and am looking for more adventure.
When I was 16 years old I spent 3 weeks taking a sailing trip around the north east coast of New Zealand. And as a kid I leaned to sail a little optimist and a laser dinghy.

I love to Kiteboard! I have a kiteboarding school...
I am also a certified open water Scuba diver.

I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I am really into Kiteboarding. and if I can get a chance to be a shipmate I would really like to bring along my kites and my board and would gladly teach everyone this awesome sport. I also SUP (when there's no wind) and surf (if there's waves and no wind) and snorkel, also advanced Nitrox SCUBA certified.
There are three Solar phenomena that I have witnessed in my short years on this wonderful earth. 1) Sun rise from beneath the clouds on Mt Haleakala Maui. 2) 2017 total solar eclipse from a little airfield that I flew my plane to in Nebraska. 3) The green flash as the sun sets... seen it twice, once over the Atlantic ocean from a helicopter and once over the Pacific ocean from the forestry trail above the Pacific Coast Highway in California.
I really enjoy seeing something new for the first time, and hopefully I will see some Awesome things with my shipmates.
I am also into riding my One Wheel. Its a really great way to get around a small town.
As far as skills go, my father taught me that if there was a task that needed to be done, learn to do it yourself. I know my way around engines, I have torn down and rebuilt gasoline engines. I also built my own house and so I have a basic understanding of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
