Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I'm a recently retired civil-structural engineer/homebuilder increasing my blue-water cruising experience and mileage gained in younger years. As the sole crew member, last Northern summer of 2018, I completed two boat deliveries; St. Thomas. V.I. to Fort Pierce, FL. (64 foot ketch) and N.Y. to Portland, Maine (34 foot sloop). I plan eventually buying my own "surf-n-dive exploration vehicle" to return to the South Pacific and/or explore the Indian Ocean. I have fibreglass sailboat construction experience and stainless steel fitting and aluminium IOR n America's Cup mast design experience with Spacecraft, a major Southern Californian spar maker.

I learnt to fish, surf n sail in NZ (in my youth and in that order). I have lived, surfed and raised a family in the Spanish Canary Islands since the early '90's. I spend plenty of time in the gym these days to ensure I can stay alive while surfing and snow skiing. I have crewed in the delivery a 50 foot French steel-hulled Dauphin from Spain and France to several locations in the Mediterranean in my twenties ..during the 70s. In my thirties, I was the design engineer at Sparcraft , Irvine, California..We built masts for the American Defender and Australian and Italian challengers of the 1984 America's Cup. In my forties I owned, for a number of years, a MacGregor 36 catamaran which spent years moored in Puerto San Carlos, Mar de Cortez, Mexico and on the San Diego Bay, So.Cal.
