Hello, I moved to Seattle at the end of July 2019 after spending two and a half years living abroad in Sweden. My wife and I love cruising and are always looking for opportunities to get out on the water. I've completed training through ASA and IYT up to a bareboat skipper level of certification and also spent 6 weeks as a deckhand aboard a 135ft tall ship in college. I'm comfortable on boats and in the water, having grown up in central Texas where the only way to be outside during the heat of summer was to be on the lake or at the pool.

I someday dream of owning my own boat and long term cruising, but for now I am looking to build experience, both with sailing and boat maintenance and would love to do some one to two week long sails.

I'm a life long lover of the outdoors and grew up swimming and boating around central Texas. Summers were always spent in or on the water to escape the heat, and my love of being on the water continues to this day. I also have extensive camping/backpacking/climbing experience. My outdoor experiences have taught me how to go with the flow and relax, while keeping a vigilant eye out for possible problems or dangers. I don't mind working hard, and enjoy some good manual labor and going to bed tired at the end of a good days work. That being said, I also appreciate lazy days spent reading and swimming.

Someday I'd love to have my own boat and do some ocean crossings. In the meantime I'm looking to spend time on as many different types of boats as I can to gain experience, build confidence, and learn from others who are already doing what I hope to someday do. Of course, I also just love the feeling of being on a sail boat, so this all has the added benefit of getting me out on the water and having an adventure.
