Hello sailers!

My name is Jimmy and I love to travel by wind. I owned a few sailing boats (prout snowgoose 37, van de stad 44 ketch, and some one off smaller sailing boats) although time wise I have never been lucky enough to be able to sail them on big open water, and archief the skills to go on a single handed adventure. After selling my last boat I gave up on my dream of sailing around the world, until a friend suggested spending some time as a crew member. so here I am!
After multiple successful short trips (3-32days) around the Medeteranian, Atlantic coast, Azores, Canarian islands and a trans Atlantic westward en eastward with members of 'find a crew' I'm now looking for longer and more remote trips with positive sailers with whom I can share a good time on the oceaan and learn everything I need to know before buying my next boat.

Traveling daily, I am a trader by heart in almost everything with an engine that is transportable by road: cars, bikes, boats, airplanes etc. I love the outdoors, diving, sailing, wind surfing, surfing, motorbikes, horse riding, swimming, skiing, boxing, and much more.

Aside of the trading I do all the refit, maintenance and construction myself and so over the last 20 years I have gained a lot of knowledge and mastered a many skills that will come in handy for the maintenance and possible emergency repairs on board. From engine and electronics to wood, polyester, and steel work.

I prefer a simple less materialistic lifestyle of high quality with down to earth companions and good food. But I am not a big fan of drinking and partying all night long in crowded places.

I have to say that I'm not specificlie looking for a beach party sailing vibe but more of an adventure trip with a certain purpose as a team where i can challenge and improve myself and share te joy of achievement. Although i really do enjoy anchoring in remote bays and firing up the barbeque while listening to the sounds of nature.

I am like a Chameleon when it comes to adapting to my environment and preform best under pressure.

Currently I'm finishing some long standing project but I'm totally free to travel wherever i want for any duration

At the moment I’m mostly interested in 2 to 8 weeks sailing / discovering all islands of the Azores - multiple 1 week short trips around Kroatia, Greece, Turkey - 1 week Norwegian Fjords - possibly working on boats - getting more knowledge of sailing - meeting nice people and mainly building valuable friendships.
