Last year I spent a year working on a 63m motor yacht, where I was a deckhand and dive instructor, allowing me to operate a number of different tenders, participate in helicopter landing and takeoff procedures, ensuring guests needs were met to the fullest and ensuring the vessel was in tip top shape, both on deck and below in the engine room.
This was a awesome learning curve for me, but soon found myself yearning for more, more responsibility, challenge and experience.
Earlier this year I completed a Pacific Ocean crossing on a 19m sailing catamaran, allowing me to be closer to the ocean and seeing some spectacular remote destinations.
It was a challenging trip, pushing my skills and ability's to new levels, providing lots of opportunities to test me and teach me new things.
We also safely completed two deliveries of smaller catamarans on the East Coast of the US, one from Fort Lauderdale to Annapolis and the second from St Thomas to Annapolis. This strengthened my skills and magnified my desire to do the Yacht Masters.
All in all, I am competent and capable seafarer in all aspects, well rounded skills and motivated to do thing better, faster and safe, I strive on excellence and welcome a good challenge to keep me on my toes.

I am a water drawn person and since recently entering the yachting industry with dive instructors and small boat skippers I am at home, the ocean.
I enjoy a challenge and am always looking for my next adventure, I work well with other but am also very dependable on my own. I strive to do the very best I can in everything I do, I am very technically minded, and work well with my hands.
I have been very fortunate to receive excellent dive training in difficult conditions, making me a very good and competent dive instructor.
Along with that I was enrolled with the National sea rescue of South Africa and received excellent training and was selected for the coxswain training program that involved numerous hours out at sea in adverse conditions and plenty of surf work making me a very good and safe skipper.
