My first experience was in 2012, on a 12m sailing boat , a trip from bali Indonesia to Maldives, crossing the equator, but I refused to shave my hair !
I used to cook, to share the watch-keeping, to help with operations...
After that I ve been travelling in central america where I practiced to speak spanish and I started to go deeper in scuba and free diving.
I did travel in europe for a while and worked on small cruise ship in Italy as receptionist/organizer.
I decided to quit as my aspirations where oriented to the sea .
Nevertheless during Summer 2015, I was living in Bristol, and I was working on boats going up and down the river, small ferries and big barge where I really enjoyed my time.
2016 , I ve been living in Thailand, where I get the Divemaster diploma, a 3 months training, and worked as Divemaster for the same Dive school for the all year.
During this time I ve been sailing from Phuket to south Bali , a 3 weeks trip, crossing malacca strait, facing the wind (from SE) , experiencing 30 hours storm, going against the current, being aware of the towing boats ....
I like music, I play guitar, piano, drums... I like sports, in particular nautical sports, I have the first level of kite-surf, the first level of free diving ... I like to eat well, sure, I'm French ^^!
I am an open and sincere woman, very adaptable, with a good sense of humour, responsable, active, with good socials skills and a happy soul !
After 3 months in california I landed in New zealand in december 2016, Where I enjoyed the working holiday visa by learning about growing plants.
During that time, I met Evan in Tarakohe, Alvei's captain, a 3 masts steal boat, so, in may 2017, I ve been crossing the ocean to reach fiji on this tall ship.
I ve been working on the boat to do some maintenance and then I was crewing the boat for 34 days to reach suva. I spent more than 6 months on Alvei, time to crew around fiji and sail to Vanuatu and keep the boat on a good shape.
During that trip ( the longest I ve done) I learnt about traditional sailing , navigation, charts... The only modern equipment onboard was a gps coordinates, otherwise everything was made with the help of our hands, brain, communication, and muscles !
After that, in 2018, I was going back to my places, to work in Thailand and in New Zealand, and finally I ve been back to France to spend the summer and enjoy family time.
I also did the STCW 10 course near by La rochelle , and learnt about first aid at sea, fire security, abandon ship procedure etc ... So now I m officially able to work on commercial and private boat.
Beginning 2019, I was crewing a boat from florida to the bahamas, 2 girls, one 15m sail boat. Great experience !
I joined Kate in Daytona to have few months in the yard, fixing the boat and then we sailed for 3-4 months.
We sailed together around bahamas and we decided to bring the boat back to US to fix her properly before getting further away.
Summer 2019 I got experience in the yachting industry, from stew, to deckhand to cook for the crew, on MY.
Now I want to focus my on SV.
Beginning 2021, I d love to cross the Atlantic and reach the carribean, where I have plans there..Anyway with the covid situation, things are a bit upside down and I'm not sure about the crossing, so I could also join a boat for a restoration project or anything else.
Finally , I found a nice project to spend the winter, building a traditional wooden boat as a marine carpenter for Annecy lake , called Esperance III, I invite you to have a look on the website of this exceptional project !
And summer 21, I was deckhand on a classic motor yacht 30m in SOF.
It means doing deck maneuvers at port/anchorage, keeping the boat clean (hull, deck, tender...), watchkeeping, basic engine room maintenance...
I used to take care of a 9m semi rigid tender, one engine, 400hp, and be ready anytime for guest transportation.
January 22, I planed to cross the atlantic, again, sailing from Cherbourg, on a 9m ketch, planning to get to canaries, we stopped in La coruna to fix the auto pilot, the owner and myself. One week sailing across biscay bay.
So to sum up, I m am a friendly woman, with some skills but still a lot to learn along the life trip, good heart, willing to be surrounded by good people, having interest in water (sailing, diving, conservation ... ), in food (cooking and eating), in wood construction, in gardening on land, music and so on.
I hold STCW and ENG1, EU passport and coastal driving licence.
I have 3 seasons experience in yachting industry, in the med, looking forward for the 4th one !
I worked on princess, feadship, explorer, I sailed on ketch, sloop, schooners ...
Summer 22 i m working on a catamaran as cook up to 10pax around corsica.
I ll repeat this experience in 23, and in 24.
I plan to reach canaries in november 24, and from there find a boat to martinique.
Thanks to my experience, I can be helpfull in many situations, from interior duties to adventurous crazyness.
I could be looking for a sharing project for a short to medium time, as well as a paid position crew for medium to long time.
Don t hesitate to ask for my resume !
Cheers
Bon vent !
