Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I am retired and looking for sailing adventures. I am in good physical shape and work out daily. I live in the US but am willing to travel to sail in other locations for the right opportunity. I am an advanced semi experienced sailor having sailed in lakes in MN where I grew up, sailed in California where I lived for 9 yrs and participated in day races and sailing in the Channel Islands on overnights. I moved to FL in 2011 and attained my ASA certifications for 101 Basic Keelboat, 103 Basic Coastal Cruising, 104 Bareboat Chartering . I crewed on a 37' CSY in the Regata del sol al sol in 2013 and 2014.. This race is a 500 nautical mile race from St Petersburg FL to Isle Mujeres MX. I sailed the boat back once to FL after the race. I sailed a 38' Island Packet from Titusville to Myrtle Beach SC . I sailed a 58' Bristol from Charleston to Baltimore in 2014. I have bare boated in the BVI's. I recently sailed in the Sea of California along the Mexican mainland and the Baja for three weeks twice in 2017..I have sailed many times in the Channel Islands on a chums 41' Nautor Swan. I am willing to help move boats from summer to winter locations and back along the eastern or western seaboards. I recently moved back to the central coast of California and am keen on sailing the west coast all the way to Alaska.

I am a certified scuba diver and dive regularly. In my younger days I spent three months hitching throughout Europe and four months hitching in Central America. I have traveled to all continents except Antartica visiting about 60 countries. I have backpacked numerous times in the Sierras and Rockies. I have river rafted the Rio Grande ,Snake, and Salmon rivers in multiple locations.. In in 2022 I spent 9 days rafting the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon . While living in Santa Fe NM in the 1990's I was on the Santa Fe NM Search & Rescue which rescued lost hikers. While in San Luis Obispo CA I volunteered for the Marine Mammal Center which is a rescue and rehab organization for all types of marine mammals headquartered in Sausalito CA. I lived in FL from 2011 until the spring of 2015 when I moved back to the central coast of CA. While in FL I was a volunteer with the State of Florida's Wildlife Commission in their Manatee Rescue program.. I also volunteered with The Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in their Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehab program for Dolphins and Small Whales. In 2013 I participated in a two week expedition in the Gulf of MX as a volunteer with Oregon State Marine Mammal Institute counting and tagging Sperm Whales. In 2017 I participated in a month long whale tagging expedition off the coast of California tagging blue, fin, and humpback whales with Oregon State Marine Mammal Institute . In 2017 I spent 6 weeks sailing in the Sea of Cortez along the Baja of Mx on a chums 40" Passport. ( 2- 3 week trips)In 2018 I spent 3 weeks sailing in Sea of Cortez on chums 40’ Passport.
