I’m looking for a boat to participate in the ARC Atlantic.
I’m 46 years old, an engineer, with an athletic build, good social skills, a Yachtmaster license, and extensive and varied nautical experience.
My main nautical activity is racing. The most noteworthy events I’ve participated in include:
- 2nd place in the Copa del Rey (Mallorca) in the X35 class. I participated in 6 editions.
- 2nd place twice in the Trofeo Conde de Godo (Barcelona) in ORC (DK46).
- 3rd place in the Middle Sea Race (Malta) in IRC (DK46).
- 2nd place in the South Atlantic Circuit (Argentina-Uruguay) in ORC (Malbec 290).
- 2nd and 3rd place in the Spanish Cup (Madrid) in Soling.
- 3rd place in the Mare Nostrum Regatta (Barcelona) in doubles in a Mini Pongo 6.4.
- Additionally, I’ve sailed in various events like the Melges 24 circuit, J70, Soling, Optimist, as well as regattas like Giraglia, Cowes Week, Kiel Week, and more.
Since I was 12, I’ve sailed in various seas, oceans, and lakes, including: the North Sea, Bay of Biscay, Mediterranean Sea, Ionian Sea, Caribbean Sea, South Atlantic, and several lakes across Europe and America.
I’ve owned boats, notably a Lagoon 440 catamaran (from 2016 to 2021) dedicated to chartering. I personally handled most of its maintenance.
On a personal level, I understand very well how to be part of a team where everyone contributes their experience and knowledge, but that at every moment there is a clear leader to follow. Additionally, adaptability and ease of living with others are qualities I highlight about myself, which I’ve proven on numerous occasions.
I hold a Recreational Vessel Skipper’s license and previously had a Yachtmaster’s license (which expired after I moved to Europe). I have done many voyages and deliveries, both with crew, in doubles, and solo. The longest time spent at sea without docking was 4 days.
I’m looking to cross the Atlantic as a personal adventure and as one of several nautical experiences I have planned in my life, including races like the Sydney Hobart, Cape Horn, and an Antarctic crossing. I’m taking advantage of this moment in my life where I’ve taken a career break to dedicate the necessary time and focus to this plan.
I would like to join a competent crew with similar interests, with whom we can create a great joint experience and possibly form a nautical friendship.
I’m currently based in Madrid and I’m willing (and eager) to travel to meet the team and the boat before departure, as I believe this is crucial for the project’s success.
Thank you in advance for considering me as a serious companion for nautical adventures.
