I was born and raised in Iowa which was a great place to grow up. I moved to New Zealand in 2012. I found a sail boat to take me to Australia and I’ve been hooked on the ocean ever since. I work in Seward, Alaska during the summers as a jet boat captain. In 2018 I was lucky enough to get on a trip to The Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica. In early 2020 I was working on boats in Milford Sound, New Zealand. I recently just finished up my 8th season in Alaska.

I've been working seasonally on boats for the past few years. It all started when I helped deliver a sailboat from New Zealand to Australia. I've been hooked on boats and the ocean ever since. I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2014 to get my STCW and work on yachts. I got a job as a deckhand/2nd Engineer. Winter 2015 I worked on day tour boats on the Big Island of Hawaii. Then followed the humpback whales to Seward, Alaska. We do day trips out to Kenai Fjords National Park and I've worked there for 2 summers. I’ve worked for a company called Lindblad Expeditions aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion. I did a 6 month deckhand contract and logged nearly 20,000 miles. We did trips between Costa Rica and the Panama Canal. I've done 21 transits of the Panama Canal. We did 3 weeks worth of trips in Baja before heading to Seattle to sail the inside passage to Alaska. I now spend my summers in Seward, AK as a jet boat captain.
