Just me, I'm not bringing any crewmates

Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I am open to sailing anywhere in the US, Mexico or the Caribbean this winter.

The Top 10 reasons to bring me on board as crew on your boat!

1. I have my basic CYA sailing certification and have studied for the Intermediate course. I want and need to log in crew hours so I can continue to learn and grow in this industry. I am comfortable on a boat and know all the basics.
2. I have my security license from being a security manager at a venue at the Vancouver Olympics so I was finger printed and had a full background check done with the RCMP.
3. I have traveled the world for over 30 years via many means, alone and with friends.
4. I have sailed quite a bit in the Caribbean, through two different tropical storms and do not get seasick!
5. I am a hard worker who is fit and healthy. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs except for the odd sundowner.
6. I am a good cook.
7. I have complete respect for the Captain and to do whatever is asked of me without question. I have no authority issues unless you are being a jerk.
8. I am an amateur comedian in both stand-up and improvisation.
9. I have taken many workshops and read a lot of books on self improvement and communications, so I am a pretty well adjusted person who deals well with all personality types. Some of them you just have to throw overboard – but happily that doesn’t happen too often! LOL
10. I am a smart, sophisticated blonde who has that rare quality of good common sense, which unfortunately is not all that common.

I have limited experience but am a fast learner, competent, dependable, happy, fun, easy going, clean living, intelligent, fearless, witty and best of all I understand the importance of the Captain being in charge and doing what I'm asked without question, as long as it does not put me in avoidable danger. I would be available for as long as things work out as I have no attachments back home. BTW I am allergic to animals.

I don’t really care what part of the world I am sailing in other than where there are known pirates (although if they weren’t so deadly that could be fun) or known hurricane seasons (been in 5 of those already). I only speak English and have a Canadian passport but would like to study Spanish and French. I am a writer so I want time to be able to write. I know sailing is a lot of work and that’s fine - I will always do more than my share - but I also need to have some time for fun and relaxation. Oh yeah, and you gotta have a sense of humor and laugh at at least some of my jokes!

My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat

have a holidayshare experiencevisit remote placesseek adventurefulfill a dreamface challengesfind a soulmate/partnergain experiencelearn to saillive off the gridsustainable traveltravel

I have spent a lot of time in the tropics and I just feel more alive, happy and content when I am on or near the ocean. I have lived my 58 years on land and I think I would like to live a few years now on the water. I love to sail and have enough experience at sea in good and really bad weather that I know I can handle the lifestyle for some amount of time. I have no fear, don't get seasick, love adventure ... so I'm ready for the dance!

Ultimately I would meet the man of my dreams and sail off into the sunset happily ever after ... what, that can happen ... if not I'll take what's behind door #2 and take my chances!
