I have been actively sailing the Pacific Northwest inside waterways for 25 years. I own a 42' Catalina sailboat. I have completed Advanced Cruising and Coastal Navigation CYA certification. I am keen to gain experience in other parts of the World and learn more about offshore cruising. I am retired, single and except for a few local responsibilities, I am free to sail pretty much as I wish.
I enjoy extended cruising in the Pacific Northwest summers for many weeks at a time in my own boat. I have also skippered a 40' charter boat in the Adriatic out of Dubrovnic. I crewed on a boat in Sardinia for two weeks in 2012 and worked to help repair a boat in Fiji the same year. I have successfully crewed on a 65 foot Catamaran from January to March 2014, Belize to the Panama Canal and sailed on to the Galapagos Is.
I skippered my own boat on a 9 week voyage to Haida Gwaii in 2016. In 2017 I crewed on a 40' catamaran from Quepos, Costa Rica to Grand Cayman and in 2018 completed two ocean passages, Puerto Vallarta to Hiva Oa and Canary Islands to St Lucia
In addition to sailing the boat and trimming the sails, I have proven to be competent with tools to make plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs, I know my way around the galley, I enjoy snorkelling in warm waters. I am keen to travel in warmer climates during the North American winter and would love the opportunity to sail in the BVIs.
