For me, jobs have always served the purpose of allowing a lifestyle of travel, adventure and freedom. Over the decades I’ve worked as a waitress, bartender, housekeeper, ski instructor, ski lift builder, house painter, gardener, organic farmer, set dresser, prop assistant, air bnb stylist/host, photojournalist assistant, map maker,
yacht stew/deckhand. Seasonal jobs, gigs, projects, freelance--as long as the job allows plenty of free time outdoors I am happy.
At university I studied geography and ethnobotany. I have a profound love and respect for our environment and believe strongly in the stewardship of this planet. My longest lasting love is rock climbing. We’ve been together 35 years and counting but lately sailing became a new competitor.
Currently I am a graduate student of traditional Chinese medicine and will be a licensed acupuncturist by the end of 2026. My plan is to practice on the move whether at wellness/yoga retreats worldwide, from my mobile sprinter van clinic or at sea while crewing on passages. I'm looking forward to returning to my nomadic ways after this three year program confined to a cold northern city. If you are still sailing at the end of 2026 perhaps our paths will cross.
Until then, fair winds my friends.
