Being from a port city, Houston Texas, I am enthusiastic about shipping and port activities. Also, crossing the Pacific and island hopping to Australia only touched on my cultural interests and taught me best provisioning practices for a live aboard vessel at sea. I love reading, music, photography and snorkelling/diving, also hospitality and tourism/charter. Of course, wind and water play an important part in this.
My interests are broad-ranging but suffice to say marine oriented. Working on private dive charter vessels in the Northern Coral Sea and the Whitsundays for several months, has to be tops on my experience list. Osprey and Bougainville Reefs are spectacular. Permanent crew positions on private yachts, dive guide, catering and navigation in the Whitsunday Islands introduced me to a permanent boating lifestyle which I have not found a replacement for to date. All maritime certifications are up to date and SCUBA qualifications to ITC require some updates.
