Dear Shipmates

I am a very motivated skipper that found his place in the Yachting-Industry and takes his work at heart.
It is now 20 years since I work on board boats and find every day as exciting as the first one.
Specially the last 15 years I worked as an Instructor and have the joy to give others some of my knowledge. Ocean/Offshore Racing has given me a constant learning process and I gained a lot of experience over the years to navigate safely but in a performance mode. I am great about having all kinds of people on board to see where and how I can connect all the strength to form the best possible teams.

I have skippered the Volvo Ocean Racer 70' Green Dragon and Ericsson 1 on and off since 2015
My partner and I used to own and run a First 47.7 for 5 executive years in the Cruising, Training and Racing mode.
Since 2010 I run the Powerboat Academy in Basel and the Swiss Sailing Academy on the lake of Lucern
Since 2017 we are active in the Swiss Ocean Racing Club and I have changed from Commodore to the Vice Commodore to have more time on the water.

Irene and I we are looking ideally to run a (Performance) Yacht from 70 up to 100 foot for the winter in the Caribbean.
Since our Training Centers need our attendance we would be available from November till May. So seasonal and rotational.
But if there is an offer with an exclusive program going to the Pacific on a decent Yacht with some friendly owners we would definitely consider changing our plans.

Born in Switzerland, danish Mother, German Father that provided my with those languages as mother tounge.
Studied Commerce, French, English, Basic IT and finally the Yachtmaster Ocean. (GOC GMDSS, STCW95 Basic Safety)

Charakter: Leo, Proud, Generous, very relaxed, I will probably never get an heart attack because the is nothing really in this world that could upset me or stress me out, (my sisters words). I am generally happy and very positive because it always comes back.

My weakness: Perfectionist, want to be the best in most of the disciplines, I am never bored.

Plan: a mix between cruising, racing and teaching.

If my seaman's heart stays to long a shore I need to fuel up on a journey on a boat.
To help people finding their happiness on a boat but need someone experienced to make them feel safe. Then I come along as Captain, consultant, trainer, teacher or coach. Most of the time I spend in the galley to spoil everyone with delicatessens so they spoil me back with other stuff. I normally don't drive boats because I want all the others to get as much out of it as possible. I usually do the docking but I am keen to teach. And of course I will always be ready to take over the helm in case but normally when people are put in charge they manage fine.
Even Charter Guests are welcome to drive the boat if the like to try they finally choose to be on a boat.
Helping out delivering or running charters, racing regattas or giving a hand on a refit in the shipyard.
I do not exclude to work as a Mate and assist the Captain on Vessels above 25m.
