Dear Shipmates

Introduction

While I have sailed small sailboats since I was 15, I purchased my first "yacht" in March of 2023. It was a slip queen live-aboard that I'm turning into a cruiser with solar, radar, AIS, dual MFDs, safety equipment, StarLink, Auto Helm and more. I've been building coastal sailing experience and would like to do my first crossing to the Bahamas with my 2 youngest daughters (10 and 14) in March of 2025, and want an to hire a captain capable of being my "instructor" for the round-trip passage. There will be other trips in the future so it this is a good experience for both of us, there will likely be more to come. I respect people's time, as it is all we have in the end. I respect people's space (even on a boat), and rights to their opinions, even if I don't agree with them. I like talking about sailing, flying, food and more. While I'm a vegetarian and don't drink (very much), I'm ok with others who eat meet and drink (as long as it isn't while actually under way). Whomever I hire is welcome to stay with us on the boat or to go off on their own as long as they are back on the boat in time for the return.

The boat right now is a little messy but that is because it is still being refreshed inside. The 'finished' state will be usually clean, though my daughters can make that a challenge sometimes. We also have a dog and have not decided whether to take it with us.
