Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I have a beautiful bluewater cruising Ketch and am looking for a willing crew to join me on my travels. Initially Australia East Coast then we can decide from there. I am a qualified YachtMaster and Master <24M yachts and have sailed since my school days. I taught yachting for many years whilst in Sydney and took students as well as racing up and down the East Coast from Hobart to Cairns.
I have owned lots of boats (rarely without one), from Lasers(8) to Viper64- and Thompson 630 sports boats, JOG 24' offshore racer, a few club racers and now the Rival 38 Centre cockpit ketch.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

I am looking for someone who has a passion for sailing, experience is not so important, who could in time be a soulmate for the adventure and beyond. I like coastal passages and exploring new anchorages. There is so much to see in the world and I have been wanting to do this all my life. The vessel is a very solid sea boat that has circumnavigated 1.5 times prior to my purchase. It has wind and solar power, watermaker, windvane and compass self steering, and the centre cockpit is enclosed so nice and toasty at night while it can be fully opened on warmer days.
Plan A is to sail north from Newcastle next Autumn and then enjoy the Whitsundays for the season. Following that it's up for discussion but my thoughts are south to Tassie and before heading toward warmer climes again. Plan B is weather and crew dependent.
I am a lover of dancing (modern jive and rock n roll) as well as enjoying the music. I keep my eye on the English and European football being a bit of a tragic fan. I am fit (at least that's what the doctor says) and built solid, and friends like my smiling friendly nature. I used to swim, crossfit and play old guys soccer but injuries have taken their toll. I really should swim more and maybe I can now find that time to enjoy it.

What is expected of the crew

clean & tidyeasy-goingfit & healthyfriendlyrespectfultrustworthygood listenereager to learn & workpolitepositive outlookopen mindedsense of humorcan pay own expensesdon't mind cleaninggood with maintenancecan follow ordersharmony

I am semi retired(all bar trying to bring some pocket money in) and looking for someone who loves sailing and wants to travel to as yet undecided destinations - though Tasmania and NZ in the summer do appeal. Equally I don't mind joining your yacht elsewhere.
I am hoping to find someone who is compatible and happy to go with the flow - waiting for the right weather windows etc and enjoy each other company.
