Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I'm John and I have been sailing full time since July of '23 on a 2018 Leopard 40 Catamaran. I am fortunate to realize a dream from the age of 12 while learning to sail. I began in St Thomas, USVI and meandered down the Leeward and Windward islands to Grenada for hurricane season. I then ventured back up the islands to St Thomas to sail with family and friends. Sailing the Spanish Virgins, Puerto Rico and then up to the Bahamas for a few months. My most recent sail was Puerto Rico to Bocas del Toro, Panama and sailing the islands just North. I recently completed a haulout at Shelter Bay Marina in preparation to cross the Pacific. I am currently sailing Guna Yala (San Blas Islands), Panama islands until mid February. Cross the canal before mid March '25 and then sail the Pearl Islands while watching weather windows to sail to Rapa Nui (Easter Island). I will have a long stay visa for French Polynesia and plan to sail Pitcairn, Gambier and up to Marquese. Enough planning for now as I enjoy having a plan, though allowing flexibility to explore and enjoy the circumnavigation.

Plan to board mid March in Panama City, Panama and then monitor a weather window to sail to Rapa Nui (Easter Island). Spend a couple weeks in Rapa Nui before departing to Pitcairne and then the Gambier Islands of French Polynesia. I will have a long stay visa to sail French Polynesia for 12 months.
