Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I am a single and I live full time on my sailboat in Mexico. I cruise and race this boat and have for many years. I do not single-hand my boat and since I have some cruises planned this winter and spring (2025) I have some crewing opportunities.

In early Feb I will take the boat south to Barra de Navidad for three weeks. I can use crew on this trip. This is not a paid position and it is not a romantic opportunity..

In late March I will depart on a longer cruise, probably into the sea of cortex. This will involve some ocean sailing and stops at a lot of beautiful ports and beaches in Mexico.

The cruise this will be divided into sections of 1-4 weeks (flexible). On previous cruises we had a lot of good sailing experienced lots of sun, beaches, swimming and socializing with other cruisers as well as exploring the towns and villages in the SEA of Cortez.

About the boat, the plans, and current crew

This is a racing boat converted to cruiser live aboard, the current crew is the owner/skipper but during racing we carry a crew of 10 very skilled sailors who have sailed together for years.

The boat is in Mexico. The opportunity is to participate in cruises in the Sea of Cortez or elsewhere in Mexico or in joining the racing crew, or in simply becoming a companion and partner to live aboard and participate in the maintenance and enjoyment of life on a sailboat. These are recreational opportunities, (not paid) positions. There will be some cost sharing (food and provisions).

You do not need experience (complete novice is OK but if you have sailing or boating experience that will also be welcome); there will be excellent learning opportunities and sailing miles and experience will accumulate. Your captain will be a good, and gentle, teacher,
You will share sailing and domestic responsibilities on board as a partner, and these will increase as you learn the boat, the sea, and become comfortable with the cruise.

I have cruised extensively, including previous cruises in the Sea of Cortez and world wide. I have circumnavigated on this boat, it is well equipped for cruising and racing. I am healthy. active, and competent and gentle.

I am healthy and fit, and work out regularly,. I am a safe and experienced sailor, having circumnavigated in this boat. I have been teaching sailing for 45 years, so novices are welcome. This is expected to be a fun and relaxing cruise but we will be sailing a lot.

This cruise now being completed involved visiting small Mexican ports in the Seat of Cortez, swimming snorkeling, walking on deserted beaches meeting other cruisers for social events and fun and lots of sailing,. The conditions in Mexico are sunny and with excellent sailing conditions. There will be empty anchorages, not crowds.

This position could be for a longer duration. After the Sea of Cortez cruise I will return to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the boat will be based there for the summer. The right candidate for this position may wish to extend their stay into or through the summer.

Next winter we will again be racing full time. Further cruises in Mexico will follow.

This is a recreational, liveaboard position, not a pad position and travel costs to Puerto Vallarta are the responsibility of the crew. This is not meant to be a romantic opportunity.

During this cruise or for a liveaboard arrangement food costs and boat operational expenses may be shared. There are no other costs.
