Dear Shipmates

Introduction

I am an inexperienced sailor hoping to live and travel on my sailboat. While I've considerable time in powerboats, this is my first sailboat, so I'm not completely oblivious to the needs of the sea.

The boat was purchased in late 2022. My plan, which has already started, is to slowly refit her but maintain her ability to sail.

After picking her up in Yamba, NSW, I need to ferry her to Westernport Bay, Victoria to continue working on her.

I hope to find crew that can help take watches, make sail or course adjustments, and share standard duties around the boat (cooking cleaning etc).

I cover all expenses once you're on the boat except for food, which we share. Any extra skills you bring are a big help.

Please let me know if my vessel might be what you're looking for.

Good sailing,
Michael

The boat was left unattended for at least three years. It was eventually offered at a really good price. The surveyor said, "It has great bones, buy it at that price". So I did, based on the surveyor's report and what some of the marina staff said. Sight unseen, except for the online photos. It's a Bruce Roberts, steel, centre cockpit, 3 cabins, oceangoing, liveaboard, cutter rigged cruiser. It needs work.

All work below the waterline, hull restoration, rudder and bearings, propeller shaft, through holes and seacocks, being done by Harwood Marine, is almost complete.

It is getting a good cleaning and the engine should be fixed soon.

Then rigging and sails will be assessed.

This is my first sailing boat and I'm looking for a crew that can help get it to a marina in Westernport Bay. The final destination may change depending on price and availability. The boat, a 13.5 m Roberts, is undergoing work near Yamba, NSW. As this is my first sailboat, I'll need help getting to terms with sailing it. It requires more work and registration, etc. This is being done at the moment and the profile updated as needed.
