Hi Everyone - I am on this site to find a crew member to join me in experiencing the world by way of ocean travel. I grew up near the waters of the Gulf of Mexico; my father was a commercial fisherman and I spent most school breaks on the water with him from a very young age until I entered college. I have been sailing since shortly after college and have owned several sail boats throughout my life. My early sailing was mostly racing in Southern California and the Texas gulf coast; however, the majority of my sailing experience has been coastal cruising with several long passages. I retired in early 2022 and spent the next 6 months sailing from the Puget Sound to Prince Rupert in northern British Columbia; I was single-handing on the trip.

My boat is a 1985 Norseman 447. I am the 4th owner; the previous 3 owners made a Pacific loop with the boat, so she is an experienced ocean vessel. Since owning the boat I have replaced or upgraded every major system on the boat.

Update November 9, 2023 - I am currently in Bahía Magdalena on the west coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico. I will be entering the Sea of Cortez in several weeks and be in La Paz near the end of November or early December. My current crew will be departing my boat in La Paz and I will be looking to add crew at that time. Then, explore the Sea of Cortez, the Mexico Pacific coast and Costa Rica in 2024. I would like to be in Panama in late 2024 with the decision of continuing south into South America or crossing the Pacific; currently leaning strongly towards crossing the Pacific.

Update May 20, 2024 - I am currently in Puerto Chiapas and will be departing here shortly. My next destination is El Salvador, then Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Crew expectations are very simple; commitment, attitude and sense of humor. Previous sailing and boating knowledge/experience would be preferred; however, over time these skills can be learned, so personality and connection is more important.
