Dear Shipmates

Introduction

The current crew member had a family issue that will require their presence at home. Unfortunately this happened a few days before our intended departure date so we are therefore looking for a new crew member to join Echo and I.
After several years fighting my way up the ladder of corporate life, the Coronavirus allowed me the opportunity to reflect on the (rather pitiful) state of my work / life balance.
After what, therefore, turned out to be a brief period of contemplation, the decision was made to pursue a life long dream, which ultimately resulted in the purchase of this yacht.
Echo (my enthusiastic passenger) and I, are about to embark, on what we hope, is a five year slow cruise around the globe.
We had originally planned on hoping over to Cuba as the first international destination, but the inability to find insurance, we now intend to head towards The Bahamas
While the boat is set up for extended off-the-grid living, we would like to interact with the local populations and learn the cultures of the various countries we anticipate visiting.
From The Bahamas we will either head down the Caribbean chain, or cross over to Europe in the Spring.

The yacht is a Fuji 40, designed by S&S and meticulously built in Japan. She is truly a blue water cruiser with a total displacement of twenty seven thousand pounds.
Currently on the finishing stretch of an 18 month series of upgrades including many for off the grid living (Water Maker, Solar Panels, Wind Generator, 12v Fridge & Water Heater, Spearfishing gear, etc…) and sea trials.
Unusually for a sailboat of her size with an aft cockpit, she has two private double berths and a large salon.
